What are Progressive Web Apps?

A progressive web application is a type of application software delivered through the web, built using common web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is intended to work on any platform that uses a standards-compliant browser, including both desktop and mobile devices.

PWAs support functionality that is not available for regular websites. It includes offline work, push notifications, access to geolocation, camera, microphone, etc. A PWA can even work outside of a browser, using a native app shell that can launch at startup.

Some of the Popular PWAs:

In this article, I’ll walk you through a basic setup guide for deploying a NodeJS Application on AWS EC2 using NGINX. The AMI used here is Amazon Linux 2 AMI.

What’s so uncommon about this?

The main reason behind writing this article is, I want to keep a note of the process and the issue I faced while doing it for the first time; also might help somebody having the same issue as I had. [I’m new to this domain. In a learning phase :)].

What was the issue?

Earlier I had experience in setting up and deploying a node app using Ubuntu AMI. For learning purposes, I was…

We often try to do things which might impress others. These things happen mostly at work. We usually try a lot to impress our manager — colleagues to gain some popularity. Prove to our manager that we are giving a lot of effort, hoping that we get a good increment. Is it essential to do something which is not right about our character?

Working hard with dedication is a good thing. There is nothing wrong in expecting to get credit for the job you have done. But sometimes, even we know what we were asked to do is not rational…

What’s life without Love? I believe most of the things we do, the people we meet, the food we eat, etc. all because we love it. Love is there in everything. You can’t just define Love; it’s just a feeling. Of course, Love isn’t always about romance. Pick any relationship you have; whether it’s your brother or sister, your parents, your friends. If you have an emotional bonding, then you are in Love with that person.

I always have my friends as my top priority in my life. There are numerous reasons for this; let’s skip those reasons for now…

MEMORIES. We all have some good ones, some bad. They play a vital role in our life. Memories are recollection, but I believe it has the power to manipulate or impact our decisions in the present. It’s like the two sides of a coin, it can either help you make a perfect decision or a very absurd one.

Good can be Bad and vice-versa.

As I said, it can impact our choice-making skills. Sometimes a decision we make based on a good memory can lead us to get tricked.

If we have pleasant memories of a person, we ignore the sensible part and jump to the…

It’s been more than two months; I don’t have a track of things I have done. I didn’t get a chance to take a pause and think about the events happening in my life. A few significant alterations occurred in my life. I switched jobs, getting into an argument with the manager of my last organization due to my resignation; after five years, I’m moving out of Delhi permanently and shifting to Gurgaon; A new company, new culture; New challenges at work and a lot more.

Before all this happened, I commenced a mission for self freedom. Though I was…

Being emotionally agile is what we need than becoming emotionally rigid. It’s not always required to stay positive, stay happy. Be sad if you lost something/someone. Feel free to feel your emotions.

But remember, you control your emotions. Don’t let your emotions control you.

More often, we use the phrase, “I’m stressed” or “I’m sad.” Here we’re defining ourselves with our emotions. But the truth is the “emotion” is something that we are feeling. It is just a part of us. Emotions don’t define us.

To deal with this, we need to find the root cause of this discomfort we…

End of another week. The week went very well and got some good news as well. I’ll share my complete weekly experience with you. But first, I would say, I have completed my two years of writing on Medium. Exactly two years ago, on this date, I had started writing.

This journey has been a roller coaster, and I have enjoyed a lot. There were times when for a couple of months, I didn’t even write one blog, sometimes I have taken out my frustration in the form of words, and sometimes it’s just about coding. …

Smartphones play a vital role in our daily life. It made everything reachable through a touch, almost under a fingertip. No wonder for the most of us, the smartphone is the first thing we look at when we wake and also the last thing before going to sleep.

There are numerous reasons or advantages of why we need a smartphone. However, at the same time, there are also several reasons or disadvantages of having a smartphone.

There is a quote, “Excess of anything is not good”. I believe this is perfect in this case. Drinking of water is good for…

Remembering where I began 🔰

I started using Medium 2 years ago in 2018 after being inspired by one of my colleagues. Initially, it was all about some random topics. Some of them were:
[Ignore the stupid titles 😉]

Then I felt an urge to share solutions to the issues which I encountered working using Ionic [hybrid mobile application framework]. These are mostly the issues I couldn’t easily find a direct answer online. …
